Ahn Sahng-hong established the congregation in April of 1964 and named it “Church of God Jesus Witnesses”. Afterwards, he passed on in February of 1985 and the heads of the church decided they had to change a great deal of things in the congregation
They moved to Busan, Seoul in March of 1985 and changed the name of the congregation to “Observers of Ahn Sahng-hong Church of God”.
In 1977, the name of the church was changed to “World Mission Society Church of God”. The congregation currently has more than 7,000 branches worldwide and as at 2013, the estimated membership count was over 100,000 people.
Zahng Gil-jah, a woman, headed the new church and was regarded as God, while Ahn Sahng-hong, who was dead was viewed as Jesus Christ and God the father. They both were viewed as Gods.

They believe that the second coming of Christ is the coming of Ahn Sahng-hong, their dead founder
The church hold their Sabbath days on Saturdays rather than sundays. they read the Bible yet decipher the words in an alternate manner. They likewise accept that all people were initially angels in heaven but thrown off to earth after they trespassed against God.
At the point of prayer, they pray in the name of Ahn Sahng-hong, e.g “in Ahn Sahng-hong name we pray, Amen.
